CleverSets keeps the stuff of your life — photos, documents, tasks, appointments, bills, purchases, contacts, notes — in one calm place. Three ideas cover almost everything:

• Your stuff lives in cabinets. A cabinet is the home for one real-world thing — a pet, a car, a project, a house. Folders inside a cabinet keep it tidy.
• Sets group things across cabinets. A Set is a collection that doesn't care where its members live — "Aviation" can pull from your plane's cabinet, your medical folder, and your photo archive at once. Nothing moves; a Set just points.
• Lenses change what you're looking at, views change how. Lens tabs (All / Media / Calendar / Tasks) filter to one kind of thing; View toggles switch between a list and a gallery. The same stuff, sliced the way the moment needs.

Everything you add is private by default. Sharing — with a person, or with the whole web — is always something you choose per item, and you can undo it.

The Add button — top-right on desktop, bottom-left on your phone — is the front door for everything: photos, files, tasks, appointments, notes, posts. Pick what you're adding and CleverSets asks only what that type actually needs.

Uploading photos and files

• Drag files onto any folder, or use the Upload button on a folder's Media tab. You can drop a whole batch at once.
• Videos show a "Processing…" tile while they're prepared for smooth playback — the tile updates by itself when it's ready.
• Not sure where something belongs yet? Add it anyway — it lands in Unfiled (the badge on Cabinets in the navigation), a holding area you can sort out later.

A cabinet is the home for one real-world thing. Folders live inside cabinets and keep related items together. That's the whole hierarchy — and that's deliberate.

Shallow beats deep

Deep nesting is where stuff goes to get lost. The pattern that works:

• One cabinet per thing — a cabinet for each pet, each vehicle, each property, each big project.
• Folders for the natural chapters inside it — "Vet records", "September trip", "Receipts 2026".
• Sets for everything that cuts across — don't create a "Pets" cabinet holding three pets; give each pet its own cabinet and make a "Pets" Set. Grouping is what Sets are for.

Every cabinet and folder has Lens tabs along the top (All / Media / Calendar / Tasks, with counts) so one container can hold mixed stuff and still stay readable — the photos when you want photos, the tasks when you want tasks.

Everything in CleverSets is an item, and an item's type is what gives it superpowers beyond a title and a description:

• Photos and videos — thumbnails, a full-screen gallery, smooth streaming for video.
• Files — PDFs and documents, previewable and searchable.
• Tasks — a checkbox, a due date, and a place in your daily plan.
• Appointments — start and end times; they appear on your Calendar automatically.
• Bills — due dates with the money attached.
• Purchases — things to buy: plan the date, check them off when bought.
• Contacts — people and businesses, linkable to the items they relate to.
• Notes — plain text for everything else.

Types are also how the cross-cutting surfaces work: the Calendar collects everything with a date, the Tasks view collects everything with a checkbox — no matter which cabinet each item lives in.

The search icon in the top bar (magnifying glass) searches everything you can see — your own stuff and what's been shared with you. Two ways to ask:

• Keywords — titles, descriptions, and the text inside documents. "mooney annual 2025" finds the inspection PDF even if the words only appear inside it.
• Describe it — you don't need the exact words. "the receipt for the thing that fixed the leak" works, because search also understands meaning, not just spelling.

Photos are searchable too: CleverSets can describe what's in a photo, and those descriptions are searched along with everything else. Searching "dog on the beach" can find the photo you never got around to captioning.

The Browse page in the navigation collects one kind of thing at a time across every cabinet you can see:

• Media — all photos and videos.
• Files — all documents.
• Tasks — everything you need to do.
• Calendar — everything with a date (also first-order in the navigation).
• Purchases — everything to buy or bought.
• Contacts — everyone and everything you know.

Inside a single cabinet, folder, or Set, the Lens tabs do the same job at a smaller scale — All / Media / Calendar / Tasks, with counts — and the View toggles switch the same items between a list and a gallery. Rule of thumb: lens picks what, view picks how, and Browse does it across everything at once.

The Calendar gathers everything with a date — appointments, task due dates, bills, planned purchases — from every cabinet, onto one surface. Month and Week for the shape of things, Day for the substance.

The Day view is two things at once

Timed events sit on the hour spine; your plan for the day — ordered, mostly untimed tasks — runs alongside it. That's on purpose: "pick up the prescription after the vet, before the store" is a sequence, not a 2:15pm slot.

Plan my day

Tell it what you want to get done, in plain words, and it becomes an ordered plan — grouped by place when that helps ("Best Buy: keyboard, UPS"). Unfinished plan items carry forward to tomorrow; you can defer or drop them anytime.

Worth knowing

• Repeating items (weekly meds, monthly bills) expand onto the grid; editing one occurrence asks whether you mean just that one, the future, or the whole series.
• Colors are honest: planned, done, overdue — and done late gets its own color, so a slipped-but-finished week still tells the truth.
• Create in place: click an empty slot to add something right there.

A Set is a collection that ignores cabinet walls. Items stay exactly where they live; the Set just gathers them — "Aviation" can hold the plane's logbooks, your flight-medical appointment, and fifty photos, each from a different place.

• Pin anything to any Set — an item can be in many Sets at once.
• Lens tabs and View toggles work on a Set page the same way they do on cabinets: filter to Media / Calendar / Tasks, flip between list and gallery. The gallery opens a full-screen viewer that stays inside the Set.
• Smart Sets keep themselves current: give a Set a rule ("every photo in these two cabinets") and matching items flow in automatically. Pin to keep something regardless of the rule; exclude to keep something out permanently.
• AI summary — on your own Sets, one click writes a short overview of what's in there and keeps it honest when the contents change.

One important boundary: putting an item in a Set never changes who can see it. Sets organize; sharing decides visibility — always separately. A Set can be published as a public page, and even then only its publicly-visible members appear.

Everything you add is private. Nothing becomes visible to anyone else unless you share it, and every share can be taken back.

Two ways to share

• With specific people — share an item with a connection and it appears in their "shared with me" world. Only the people you name, only the items you pick.
• With everyone — mark an item Public and anyone with the link can see it, signed in or not, on a clean read-only page. Public cabinets and published Sets get gallery pages you can hand out.

How containers behave

Folders and cabinets can pass their sharing down to what's inside ("inherit"), so sharing a whole folder is one action, not fifty. An item inside can still override — a private item inside a public cabinet stays private, and public pages simply skip past it without revealing it exists.

The sharing summary on each item always shows the honest current answer to "who can see this?" — if it ever surprises you, that's the place to look first.

CleverSets has a quiet social layer. It's off to the side until you want it, and nothing about it is required.

• People — find other users, send connection requests (mutual, like knowing someone) or follow (one-way, like subscribing). Connections are who you can share items and messages with.
• Posts — short public updates, written from the Add button or by clicking Share… on your own items. A post can carry photos and links to your public stuff.
• The Feed — two tabs: Following (people you follow) and Everyone (all public posts here).

The fediverse (entirely optional)

If you flip on Fediverse in your profile, people on Mastodon and similar networks can follow you, your public posts reach them, and you can follow them back from the People page (@name@server). Two things stay true no matter what: only public posts ever leave this server, and turning it off is one switch.

Messages are direct and private, between you and your connections. Your Inbox (the envelope icon in the top bar, with an unread badge) holds what you've received; Sent holds what you've sent. When someone shares an item with you, the message is how it arrives — the item comes attached, ready to open.

AI in CleverSets does chores, not magic tricks. What it can do for you:

• Describe photos — captions and searchable descriptions for one photo or a whole selected batch, so old uploads become findable without hand-labeling.
• Read documents — the text inside PDFs and scans becomes searchable.
• Summarize a Set — one click writes a short overview of a Set's contents (yours only), and it refreshes when the contents meaningfully change.
• Plan your day — turns "vet at 2, then groceries, call mom" into an ordered, checkable plan.

The ground rules

• Inspectable — wherever AI touched something, the sparkle icon shows exactly what was extracted or written. You can always see it, correct it, or ignore it.
• Yours to edit — AI output is a draft on your stuff, never an authority over it.
• Metered honestly — AI features are part of paid plans and use monthly credits; the Billing page shows exactly where you stand. No surprise charges.

The avatar menu (top-right) is home base for your account: Profile (how you appear to others), Settings, and Billing (plan, credits, and payment, handled by Stripe).

The no-lock-in promise

• Canceling never deletes anything. Downgrade, cancel, lapse — your stuff stays yours and stays put.
• Download My Stuff — request a full export from Settings and confirm it from your email; you'll get a download with your items in open formats plus all your files. Available to everyone, on every plan.
• Delete your account — also in Settings, also yours to do anytime. It asks you to be sure, then it means it.

The order matters and is deliberate: you can always download first, then delete — leaving with everything you brought and everything you made.
